Why a one-day DIY kit fails

Most failed garage floors were rolled on over an unprepared slab. Epoxy needs a mechanically profiled surface to grip, and it needs a slab that is not pushing moisture up from below. Skip the grinding and moisture test and the coating has nothing to hold onto.

A hardware-store kit also gives you a thin coat and a weak topcoat. It looks fine for a season, then the hot tires and traffic find every shortcut that was taken.

Why do DIY epoxy kits peel?+
Almost always because the slab was not ground to a proper profile or moisture-tested, and the kit topcoat is thin. Without mechanical prep and a moisture check, the coating has nothing solid to bond to.
Do you grind the concrete or just acid-etch it?+
We diamond-grind. Etching rarely creates a strong enough profile for a lasting bond, especially under vehicle traffic. Grinding is part of why our floors hold up.
What is moisture testing and why does it matter?+
It checks how much moisture is moving up through the slab. Too much will lift any coating from below. Testing first lets us address it before installing, instead of watching the floor fail later.
How long does installation take?+
Most residential floors are a multi-day process including prep, coating, and cure. We give you a clear timeline and the cure times before you can walk and drive on it.
